Marta Cary-Skovrinski

Jefferson County Mediation Services award winner in 2016 and 2017!

I'm a Colorado native and I have a master's degree in negotiation and dispute resolution from Creighton University. Most people tend to avoid conflict if possible.  For me, conflict is more of a calling and I decided to study it. I'm thrilled to be a conflict specialist with unique skills to help people and organizations manage their inevitable difficulties with others. I'm an award-winning mediator with years of experience coaching and counseling individuals and groups in constructive, productive conversations in their personal and workplace disputes.I have been mediating for six years.

Facilitating negotiations in difficult, emotionally-charged disputes is my specialty. Focusing on communication, I assist parties with crafting agreements that include guidelines to manage the relationship in the future. Dissolution, post-decree modifications, allocation of parental responsibilities (APR) parties find this to be valuable framework for transitioning to effective co-parents.  Workplace dispute parties appreciate incorporating communication plans for managing future conflict between individuals and groups. Helping people achieve resolution with a path forward in their most challenging relationships is work I truly love!

I am active with Jefferson County Mediation Services and mediate in three Jefferson County courts as well as being a board member and panelist with the Turelli Foundation.  I belong to the Association of Conflict Resolution and I'm a Professional Member of the Mediation Association of Colorado (theMAC) and regularly participate in advanced training and specialized continuing education.
